Just for this moment
May I be free from anger,
May I be free from worry, May I be grateful,
May I be true to my way and my being,
May I be compassionate to myself and others

- Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki

What is reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that promotes calm, grounding, and connection.

Using gentle touch, it helps release stress and restore balance by supporting the free flow of life force energy.

When this energy is blocked, we may feel off — emotionally, physically, or spiritually.

When it flows freely, we feel aligned, healthy, and alive.

Reiki comes from the Japanese words “Rei” (divine guidance) and “Ki” (life force energy).

It channels spiritually guided energy to support healing and well-being. Simple and natural, anyone can receive Reiki, and it works well alongside other healing methods.

Whether facing challenges or needing to reconnect, Reiki meets you where you are.

How Reiki Works

You don’t have to fully understand Reiki for it to work — you just have to be open. Reiki isn’t about fixing you, it’s about supporting the natural healing your body already knows how to do. During a session, you’ll be fully clothed and either seated or lying down, as I gently place my hands on or above the body to help move stagnant energy and restore flow. It’s subtle, but deeply powerful — like your nervous system finally exhaling.

Reiki in U.S. Clinical Care Today

Reiki is increasingly offered as a complementary therapy in hospitals, cancer centers, and mental health programs across the U.S. Major institutions such as NYU Langone and Yale New Haven’s Smilow Cancer Hospital provide Reiki through their integrative medicine services. At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, nurses use Reiki to help patients manage pain and anxiety.

Reiki in Clinical Trials

Peer-reviewed clinical trials, including double-blind, placebo-controlled studies, have explored Reiki’s effects on pain, anxiety, and overall well-being. Findings suggest potential benefits such as reduced pain and stress, improved mood, and better quality of life. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense have supported Reiki, with programs like a VA initiative in Washington state funding Reiki therapy for veterans with PTSD. Military researchers at the Uniformed Services University have also studied Reiki for pain relief in wounded soldiers.

Today, many National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers incorporate Reiki as part of comprehensive care. This growing presence reflects Reiki’s acceptance as a gentle, low-risk approach to enhancing patient comfort and wellness.

“So I waited the 5 days after our session to do it for the full result. Like I already told you, during our session I felt very peaceful and like I was covered with a weighted blanket including the comfort these bring I had crazy vivid dreams. And the last days have been pretty intense from the outside, but since our session I feel like i’m more anchored within myself.”

“Zee had such a calming, grounded presence. I felt really safe and held throughout the online reiki session. Energetically, it was powerful. Came out of it feeling way more grounded and almost a week later I feel more clear and I feel a shift of energy. It’s wild how much shifted without even being in the same room. Zee is genuinely lovely and intuitive, and I’d absolutely recommend a session with her if you’re needing a reset or just some space to reconnect with yourself.”

I have to be honest, I was skeptical of virtual reiki at first since anything like this that I’ve done has been in person. However, I definitely felt very relaxed afterwards, which was why I was surprised when you told me not to tell you how I felt for a few days….

NOW I understand! The next day, the barriers I was stressed about seemed to lift. As the week continued, things remained steadily improved at work. I didn’t put 2 + 2 together right away, but by the weekend, I had some time to think. That’s when I realized the one thing I did differently… Reiki.

I don’t know how long I will see the effects but thinking I will def want to book another session soon! Please lmk your availability!”
